Light Fault Indication | Possible Causes | Rectification |
- SYSTEM: MGX / MGX 2 / MGX 2E / MGX 100
-
- No light flash at power up.
-
| - Blown bulb.
- No power to module (B+I / B+P).
- Yellow or black light wire open circuit (F/OL / B+L)
- Yellow wire short circuit (D3 Diode blown).
- White wire open circuit.
- Module faulty.
| - Check/replace bulb.
- Check for 224 Volts to B+I / B+P terminals.
- Check yellow and black lamp wire for open circuit (F/OL / B+L).
- Check D3 Diode (if burnt or blown rectify short circuit on yellow wire and replace polar fuse board).
- Check white wire for open circuit and rectify.
- Replace Module.
|
- SYSTEM: MGX / MGX 2 / MGX 100
-
- Light comes ON and stays ON when stationary.
| - Module latched (except MGX)
- Black wire short circuit to B- or Ground.
- Broken or missing bar jumper.
- Fuse blown.
- Module faulty.
| - De-Latch module (Apply B+, Short between FR / TP and B+F, remove B+, wait, then re-apply B+).
- Apply B+, disconnect black wire at module.
- Check bar jumper security (Inspect for cracks).
- Replace polar fuse board.
- Replace Module.
|
- SYSTEM: MGX / MGX 2 / MGX 2E / MGX 100
-
- Light comes ON at speed 0 - 20 kph.
-
| - Sensor fault.
| - Adjust/replace faulty sensor.
|
- SYSTEM: MGX / MGX 2 / MGX 2E / MGX 100
-
- Light comes ON at speed 80+ kph.
-
| - Damaged exciter.
- Excessive exciter run out.

- Loose exciter.
| - Check exciter and sensors for security condition and run out.
|
- SYSTEM: MGX 2E / MGX 100
-
- Light stays ON above 10 kph.
-
| - Sensor fault.
- Module latched (MGX 2E only)
| - Adjust/replace faulty sensor.
- De-Latch module.
|
- SYSTEM: MGX 2 / MGX 2E / MGX 100
-
- Module will not De-Latch.
-
| - Solenoid open or short circuit.
- Supply wiring fault.
- Supply voltage <18 Volts or >32 Volts.
| - Check solenoid for open or short circuit. Check solenoid for operation
- Check junction boxes for corrosion/water ingress.
- Rectify supply voltage (battery condition, alternator and electrical circuit for volts leak to ground).
|
- SYSTEM: MGX only
-
- Delayed light (light flashes ON/OFF then comes back on after approximately 3 seconds).
-
| - Solenoid open or short circuit.
- Module faulty.
| - Check solenoid for open or short circuit. Check solenoid for operation
- Replace module.
